Why We Don’t Do Tinctures

## Why We Don’t Do Tinctures

**Short answer:** too much hype, not enough transparency. We stick to water-extracted fruiting-body powders and we publish batch COAs.

**Longer version:**
- **Beta-glucans are water-soluble.** A straight water extract efficiently pulls the compounds most people actually want.
- **Tincture math is fuzzy.** “X drops = Y mg” isn’t standardized; proofs vary; you often pay for ethanol + water.
- **Label games.** Many tinctures are made from myceliated grain (biomass) but don’t say it plainly—polysaccharide numbers get padded by grain starch.
- **Powder is clean and measurable.** Easy to dose by weight, easy to test, easy to publish.

If you like tinctures, cool—just demand the COA and make sure it’s fruiting-body based.
